I believe that access to certain hooks to certain problems in general business could provide real utility. The mission for a LinkedIn app remains that which is rooted to business problems in the real world, which makes for a much more rewarding experience than facebook.

You’re right about the approach that LinkedIn has taken with the Apps Platform – it’s still a little buggy in places and accessibility is not always perfect but the quality of the apps themselves is very good – most of them proven already.
